i seriously feel like there is intuitive bias in play with every single si dom character in naruto; all of them keep getting mistyped as ni doms instead. kimimaro is very much a si dom, in fact- his whole character arc is based on how he stuck to an extremely irrational and clearly one-sided relationship just because orochimaru was a pivotal person in his memories and past. ↬ "i do not hate the darkness, it was in the darkness that i was raised." ↬ "thats what lord orochimaru said to me that day. but, people are born for a reason, that's what i think; they have something they're meant to do with their lives, and i am no different. i was put on this earth to protect lord orochimaru and his ambitions." being unable to comprehend any possibilities in a relationship and completely devoting yourself to the other person, regardless of how unreasonable the bond may be, is one of the most prominent traits of an unhealthy ISFJ. think of kotonoha from school days, haku (someone very akin to kimimaro), seiichi from chi no wadachi, all of them have this in common. kimimaro did not, or rather could not, get out of his comfort zone and seek answers other than the one he had made based on his experience, which shows his lack of ni + the clear-cut inferior ne. since childhood, the notion of being useful to others was fed to kimimaro, the drive behind his whole proclaimed 'purpose' and sake of living is very si-fe. also, ni is not the only function capable of being goal-oriented: having a dream or believing you have a purpose does not directly indicate a high presence of ni. furthermore, i dont think kimimaro is ISTJ either, i absolutely cannot see any Te in him, and his obsession with being useful to orochimaru was indicative of si-fe-ti-ne rather than si-te-fi-ne; although his bond with the former was very subjective in nature, his fe made him much more protective and aware of orochimaru's emotions and goals rather than any of his own. i really hope there is an increase in ISFJ votes (or even ISTJ votes but that's a moot point) because there is genuinely no way to mistype a character like him.
