What personality type is Shizuo Heiwajima? Shizuo Heiwajima is an ISTP personality type in MBTI, 9w8 - sp/sx - 964 in Enneagram, RLUEN in Big 5, SLI in Socionics.
I can *somewhat* understand the 9w8 votes. He has pretty good Fe, considering how he really doesn't *want* to be violent, and how the act of being violent in itself only fuels his anger. But, with that being said; I can't see him being a 9w8. At all. I can easily see how his pretty well-developed Fe can lead to some seeing him as a 9w8, but Fe in itself doesn't outweigh his violent nature. He can't restrain himself from being violent, and often times doesn't even try. Being violent is literally in his job description. He's considered one of the most dangerous men in Ikebukuro, and his name *alone* is enough to instill fear in others. He never goes out of his way to be particularly sociable, and he is literally the *cause* of conflict in some instances (often getting violent with someone simply over something they've said, some times not even directed at him). Shizuo often defies orders; just to cause violence (i.e. his many attempts at holding a job), and doesn't take Tom's whole "you don't need to get violent with every single one of them" speech that much into consideration. While it's obvious that he is *trying* to restrain himself at times, it never works. His Se is extremely developed seeing as he often just acts in the moment, never really considering the consequences of his actions. We never really see any great examples of Shizuo *really* opening up, except for in episode 7; where he opens up to Celty (who he seems rather close to). Shizuo practically never waits for anyone to share their side of the story before he initiates violence. He lacks the ability to do so. He desperately wants to stop being violent, he said so himself when he said "I really hate violence... I just want to get stronger, strong enough so that someday I can contain my anger", but I really don't see this, or his developed Fe, being a good argument as to why he may be a 9w8. He definitely shows more traits of a 8w9 (short temper, not easily taking orders from others, his stubbornness), than a 9w8. He doesn't actively try to defuse or limit any confrontational situations; he actively participates in them. Definitely a 8w9. Like I said, I can somewhat understand how some may misinterpret him and perceive him as a 9w8, but it doesn't hold up when compared to how he actually acts in the anime. There are a lot of 8w9 votes, so I'm hoping that we can get this sorted out. Thank you. Also, I see a lot of you arguing for his mindset. Valid. But, I believe that *actions* play a major part in one's type. Just because he thinks a certain way, doesn't make him that type. It obviously plays a part, and I took that into consideration when voting and while writing this comment. Also, Shizuo is my favorite DRRR character 👍
