What personality type is Pariston Hill? Pariston Hill is an ENTP personality type in MBTI, 7w8 - sp/so - 738 in Enneagram, SCOEI in Big 5, EIE in Socionics.
I posted this earlier but it seems like some people are back to making arguments about him being an ENTJ or ENFJ. Here is a slightly updated breakdown of his cognitive functions for ENTP. Dominant Ne - Very adept at seeing how larger patterns fit together and perceiving the big picture. Can see all kinds of possibilities emerging way into the future. Constantly driven to play intellectual games. The scene where he explains how he foresaw the elections to Cheadle is a great example of this, where he initially thought Ging would win but immediately saw different possibilities emerging when Leorio disrupted that. Auxillary Ti - Ability to fit all those vast possibilities into a logical framework, to pick which the most likely path is. Can create out-of-the-box strategies and plans which most other people find crazy. Has little regard for what is workable for the larger tribe's logic, he acts based on his internal logic. Tertiary Fe - When Fe is the 3rd function, it manifests as what can often be described as "roguish charm". These people (ENTP and ESTP) are often extremely charismatic and can draw many followers, with a massive tendency to troll people for amusement. Pariston has high Fe but it is not the harmonious Dom Fe of ENFJs and ESFJs. Instead, it is manipulative Fe that is filtered through his Ne and Ti. Inferior Si - Only does what he considers to be "fun", disdainful of anything that might become tedious or boring. Even warns Cheadle that the Association better not become a boring place under her. To him the Si functioning of the Association is irrelevant, his only real demand is that it not become boring. When you look at the cognitive functions, he is clearly Dom Ne, Aux Ti, Ter Fe and Inf Si. The only way you can call him an ENTJ or ENFJ is if you use outdated MBTI myths like "He's a J, not a P", which is not how cognitive psychology works at all. Pariston literally turned the election upside down and kept prolonging it for fun. And when he WON it finally, he gave it up immediately and walked away; as Ging himself pointed out, Pariston was in it the entire time just to keep the Hunter's Association from becoming a boring place, not because he wanted to win (which Si doms like Cheadle mistakenly believe to be Pariston's goal). The short-sighted Zodiacs falsely believe that he's an ENTJ and only after power. Ging is the only one who knows he isn't, and even reminds Cheadle of that. So no, he is NOT typed as an ENTP simply because he trolls people. He's a clear example of an ENTP because dominant Ne, auxiliary Ti, tertiary Fe and interior Si are what Togashi highlights in his character.
Biography
Pariston Hill (パリストン゠ヒル, Parisuton Hiru, #on knees) is a Triple-Star Hunter and both the former 13th Chairman and 12th Vice Chairman of the Hunter Association. He is also a former member of the Zodiacs with the codename “Rat” (子ね, Ne). He can be considered one of the main antagonists of the 13th Hunter Chairman Election arc. #MagnificentBastard
