What personality type is Rupert Giles? Rupert Giles is an INTJ personality type in MBTI, 5w6 - so/sp - 512 in Enneagram, RCOAI in Big 5, LSI in Socionics.
At first I was thinking INTP, but I'm seeing more evidence of inferior Se than inferior Fe. He's also quick to pick up on abstract connections and symbolism. I can see where ISTJ voters are coming from, what with his focus on tradition and history, but his internal concept of those two things seems very conceptual and archetypal. I also don't see evidence of inferior Ne: he doesn't tend to catastrophize or struggle to come up with a plan of action under stress. Some people have cited his knowledge as evidence of Si. Often times he doesn't already know the answer, he's just very good at finding it. Overall, INTJ is the best fit.
Biography
Giles (portrayed by #AnthonyStewartHead), rarely referred to by his first name, is a Watcher and a member of the Watchers' Council, whose job is to train Slayers. In the earlier seasons, Giles researched the supernatural creatures that Buffy must face, offered insights into their origins and advice on how to kill them. Throughout the series, he became a father-figure to Buffy, Willow, Xander, and the others, giving them advice not only on the supernatural world, but on life issues as well.
