𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐎𝐂𝟔 𝐀𝐫𝐠𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 ⨾ 𝐀𝐧 𝐄𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐎𝐧 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐎𝐂𝟔 [ 𝟏 / 𝟐 ] ❡ 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗜𝗠𝗘𝗥: This contains spoilers of the show, both seasons alike, as well as parts of the book series, so please be aware of that fact while proceeding further. I have to say his SO1 consensus comes as such a disappointment to me cause he is quite literally social 6 personified, though E1 and social 6 often get confused due to the similarities between the types so without further stretching this introduction, let's get started with the argument! 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐒𝐎𝐂)𝟏 ⨾ ❝The social one has a real passion for feeling "I am right, and you are wrong"; and this, in turn, implies a certain power over others, because when it can make others feel that they are wrong. It is as if he said: "If you are wrong, then I have more right than you to control the situation." It is a great technique, of dominating through making others feel that they are wrong, and it can be understood as an alternative to the dominance that the sexual one establishes through mere assertiveness in taking possession and feeling with it. corresponding right. But, since these characters feel above all an implicit moral superiority, it is useful to point out the great difference between morality and moralism: what is immoral in E1, apparently so upright and honorable lies precisely in that its apparent morality is nothing more than moralism.❞ The SOC1 has difficulty going along with social customs and behavior, as they believe their stance is superior to the public's and they expect others to match their perfect standard by projecting their perfection onto the social sphere. The SOC1 will impose on what they think should be happening– Ultimately, the SOC1 focuses on perfecting society based on their own idealogy. — Anthony is shown to quite strictly go along with social customs and behavior, he never really showed any desire to fix his environment based on his own idealogy. He makes sure his family and himself are acting accordingly to social customs and behavior that is already set within his environment. He doesn't show that he believes his idealogy is superior to the publics or showed any desire for perfecting his environment based on his idealogy, thus making SOC1 quite unfitting for Anthony. So he doesn't fit the subtype, but what about E1 at core? Well, Anthony doesn't fit E1 enough for it to be his core enneagram. Lets elaborate! ❝Ones have an idealized vision of how things could be perfect. They notice imperfections and become resentful. This resentment can slip out as biting, sarcastic humor. Ones are always a little angry. The anger leaks out in hyper-criticality and often manifests in muscular tension.❞ E1’s have a very internal and personal idea about how things should be, how things should be done, and they themselves and others constantly do not correspond with that idealogy. Thus it causes the E1 to constantly be in distress by a resentment of the environment for not being as good as it should be, which leads them towards an obsession with perfection. Now perfection is an expectation while perfection is humanly impossible, which leads the E1 always to be disappointed and frustrated with themselves and others. — This does not fit Anthony for many of the same reasons why he doesn't fit SOC1. Anthony never showed any obsession with perfection, he showed to proceed with practicality and order which isn't exactly the same thing. Anthony doesn't go off of his own idealogy which is what the E1s idea of perfection is. Some people might assume that he wants to “perfect” his family but that's not the case, “perfecting” his family isn't his desire, its to keep them safe and he does so as if it's his primary duty because he had to take the role as the lead parent to his father's passing. This actually correlates to SOC6 more but ill take about that later on Now that we discussed why he is not an E1/SOC1, why would he be an E6/SOC6 instead? Well, let's elaborate further!
