What personality type is ILE? ILE is an ENTP personality type in MBTI, 7w6 - so/sp - 739 in Enneagram, SCUEI in Big 5, ILE in Socionics.
𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐈𝐋𝐄 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐕𝐋𝐅𝐄 Capricious, overly impractical, cunning, gravitates towards novelty... The image that the ILE has on the community is the one of a troll but, what's the true PY of this character? There's a huge misconception among the community over the correlation between 1V and responsability / goal orientation / hard work, and this misconception has messed up a lot of profiles, including this one. I recently explained on the PY board that circlejerking responsibility is something more common in process volition (2V, 3V) https://www.personality-database.com/post/6084873?boardID=327794 But in case you don't want to read it, the short explanation is that 1V is too much of a result oriented placement that it's strange for them to gravitate around liability. If 1V want something, they'll just pursue it without caring about external expectations. To justify FLEV, most people said that 4V "prefers to have few responsibilities and focus on what they like" without noticing that they accidentally described how 1V operate. WHY ON EARTH would a 1V gather responsibilities instead of just doing their own thing? That's a 2V-3V mindset; wanting to give the image of someone reliable and who can give security. 1V feels already sure about their superior position in the world. They don't need to manage things to demonstrate how goal oriented and hard-working they are. If they desire something, they just take it without hesitation. Now, the FLEV vote is simply nonsensical if we take into account PY's concept of mental hierarchy. Anybody can't explain HOW does an ILE, a type so detached on the material realm, become someone who spends the majority of his mental input onto the material world. "The ILE's focus on constantly chasing after new things often leaves him to neglect his physical well-being. He appreciates pleasant stimuli that help him to "turn off" his active mind for a little. An ILE will commonly use some short burst of physical activity to take a break from his interests" That's literally how 3F-4F works in a nutshell. Now, to explain how ILE fits VLFE I'll use Gulenko's description: "The ILE is inventive: always has numerous ideas and new projects. Indiscriminately interested in everything in hopes of finding something unique. Depreciates past achievements. Works on what is of interest to him, even if it doesn’t guarantee any real returns" 1V + 2L + Low physics coded. The ILE wants to do his own thing even risking his stability on the material world. Literally no 1F on Earth. "ILE is not afraid to go against conventional opinions, if he considers them outdated. Tries to make major breakthroughs and discoveries" 1V + 2L "He will resist any attempts to subordinate himself to routine or a strict schedule. Despite the fact that he is busy looking for alternatives to conventional mundane life, in difficult situations he often shows impressive ingenuity and hastiness" Low physics and practicality. Fits the delusional nature of 1V "He cannot be reasoned with with the language of force" High volition. "ILE does not feel well interpersonal distances i.e. how close or far he is with someone. He often tries to be equally friendly to everyone. In communication, ILE is accessible and democratic. Absolutely needs periodic emotional shake-ups and upheavals" Absolutely 4E. The ILE is easily influenced by the external emotional atmosphere and regulates his expression according to it. With a 3E that would be incredibly complicated, since 3E has a weak emotional principle he wants to protect. A 4E also has a weak emotional principle, but he doesn't care to expose it. "They often detest authority exercised in this way, and will challenge abuses of power. When backed into a corner by an aggressive person, the often harmless appearing ILE will immediately rise to meet the threat and strike it down with ease" This fits better 1V+3F than 1V+4F. Even if the 1V has control over the 4F, it rarely switches to aggressiveness. 1V+3F can be ruthless in some occasions.
