Before anything else, I’m going to lay out the functions involved and their definitions: ➫ ғᴜɴᴄᴛɪᴏɴ (𝐓𝐈): It’s important to clarify that Ti logic is not “logic” itself. Everyone has logic, even though Ti has been so strongly associated with the word that it seems (incorrectly) to own it. However, the specific logic of a Ti user is what we call relative logic. Ti users take all the data or information they receive through their perceiving functions (Ne/Si or Se/Ni) and compare it. This can happen consciously or unconsciously, and the data can be accurate or inaccurate. In any case, through this comparison, they look for inconsistencies, find what makes sense and what doesn’t, discard what doesn’t fit, and build a mental database of completely consistent information. The more they learn, the bigger and more complex the puzzle becomes. Unfortunately, because every piece depends on the next to such an extent, discovering that a previously reliable piece of data contradicts a core component of their logical framework can cause a large-scale collapse. ➫ғᴜɴᴄᴛɪᴏɴ (𝐅𝐈): In forming their identity, Fi users define their values. Then, they take all the information provided by their perceiving functions (Ne, Ni, Se, or Si) and evaluate it according to their value system. They accept or reject it based on compatibility. Anything that contradicts their value system clashes with their own feelings and therefore must be rejected. Because of this internal focus, their self-worth becomes tied to their fidelity to themselves. Acting against their own value system will trigger internal negative emotions. However, Fi users don’t always have a fixed set of values. If necessary, their values and identity can be reassessed and adapted to their current mindset. Due to their introspective emotional focus, Fi users tend to understand others by connecting through themselves. This can lead them to project their own emotions onto others (for example: “If I feel this way about X, everyone else must feel the same”). However, Fi users can show deep empathy if they have personally experienced something similar to what another person is going through. ➫🎁𝘽𝙤𝙣𝙪𝙨🎁 (𝐅𝐄):Fe is objective, impersonal, and proactive, so it automatically aligns with the external world, leading it to cognitively prioritize collective value. It is pragmatic, as it pays special cognitive attention to the impacts/effects that actions have on the external world in an emotional sense. Therefore, for Fe, actions carry a "sentimental" filter, requiring verification of whether their emotional effects are socially acceptable. 〖Analysis:〗 Now please tell me, at what point does this guy show anything like “comparing things through his logical framework, checking for coherence, and giving priority to that”? Does he argue in that way, or seek truth in what he’s facing? An ESTP takes external data and runs it through that filter—their own “logical framework.” But here, you can see that he wanted to make his father feel better, an idea that could be framed as doing good, yet what pushed him was simply stealing and attacking people to achieve that, because “no one else was going to help him.” There was no other way to carry out his plan (Te). A tertiary Fe (in the case of an ESTP) would care about external harmony and the unspoken rules of social harmony. Fi, on the other hand, is less inclined toward that—not because it’s more selfish, but because it stays loyal to what it sets out to do, regardless of anything else. Fi works with values that are continuously decided and refined, and Fi users cling to them no matter what. Then we see that when he promises to protect the girl and become “a better person,” and realizes he failed, he starts seeking revenge driven by that internal sensation of “not having been able to stay true to what I set out to do”—a clear example of Fi. I don’t see why people insist on seeing Ti here. He doesn’t show any active search for coherence; instead, he focuses on staying true to what he set out for himself—classic ESFP behavior. ESTPs show clearly their secondary Ti and tertiary Fe. This guy doesn’t. Everything in him is about “I take revenge and turn against everyone because I couldn’t stay true to what I intended, even though deep down that’s all I ever wanted.” That’s it.
